  1. Well there was some flying to be had but around Toronto it was poo poo (technical term :)
Kitchener was hit with a crazy rain storm for about 15 minutes and it was all over for our departure thank God :)
VFR would have been “not recommended” though :)
    Safe flying,

  2. Actually right after the storm, say around 18:00 local, everything clears up, clouds few, at FL 230 or so. Winds still gusty at 190 degree. I was listening to CYKZ tower and a few planes took off after the storm. Morning is actually fine flying weather.. you just missed it.. :-)

  3. Yup, I could have gone in the AM… but my booking was for mid-afternoon.
    :(
Just out of curiosity, how were you listening to Tower? Do you live near-by with a scanner?

  4. The CTV Helicopter flew out of Buttonville about 30 mins after the storm past. Unusual streamer for weather.
I have worked in the HWY 7 and Leslie area for 14 years and have never seen traffic (road) like we saw on Monday.
4 of the 5 major core pipes were down. Bathurst, Yonge, Bayview and Woodbine. And to add to the problem there were traffic lights out on Leslie. Took me a 1/2 hr to drive a 6 min route. My partner took 2 1/2 hrs to go from Dufferin to Bayview and John.
The good news is that no aircraft were harmed in the storm.
    Safe flying.
    Rick
