Low Level Airspace Changes in Ontario

August 26, 2009 13:26 417 views No Comment

I just read about this today, but haven’t heard anything from Nav Canada as to an implementation date.

The Short of it: All class “G” airspace above 2,500′ in the south and 3,500′ in the north will be designated class “E”. As well, class “G” airspace above 12,500′ to 18,000 will now be class “B”.

The Long of it can be found in the 9/09 AIC

This doesn’t affect VFR pilots that much (unless you went above 12,500 VFR). The majority of the airspace was already class “E” anyways because of all the airways around here.
