Flying Schedule

If the weather is nice, I hope to have 25 hours of flying done by the end of February. I’m not 100% sure (i’m going to ask my FI tonight) but I think I can start flying Solo at around 25 hours.

Days I plan on flying:

1/15/2006 12:00 – 14:00

1/22/2006 12:00 – 14:00

1/24/2006 14:00 – 16:00

2/4/2006 15:00 – 17:00

2/5/2006 09:00 – 11:00

2/6/2006 10:00 – 12:00

2/11/2006 12:00 – 14:00

2/12/2006 12:00 – 14:00

2/13/2006 09:00 – 11:00

2/18/2006 14:00 – 16:00

2/19/2006 10:00 – 12:00

2/20/2006 10:00 – 12:00

2/26/2006 12:00 – 14:00

2/27/2006 09:00 – 11:00

My Meterology teacher used to work for JetsGo and now works for Jazz. I know someone who’s a flight attendant that also used to work for JetsGo and now works for Jazz. I’m going to ask her if she knows him. Another conincidence I discovered yesterday was that same teacher also taught my FI when she was in school.

I have a ground briefing tonight with the FI. I did my homework! I”ve also been starting to commit some of the emergency checklists to memory, as well as the walk-around procedure.

  1. I wish you luck with that ambitious schedule, Blake. :-)
Generally during the winter months, especially starting out when good weather (as opposed to moderate or marginal weather) is required for a new student, you’ll find that 50% of your scheduled flights will be cancelled by wx.
With the way this winter is going, the percentage is apt to be higher….unfortunatly.
As for your solo, there really is no set number – its when your instructor feels you are ready. Flying regularly, as you plan to, will get you there faster, so I think that providing you do well you’ll find yourself soloing well before 25 hours!
I was only a weekend flyer myself and I solo’d at 18’ish hours… If I can do that flying only once a week (less sometimes due to wx) you can surely match or beat it. :-)
    Have fun!

  2. You’re absolutely right! Thats partially the reason why I booked so many days. I anticipate a lot of them to be cancelled due to the weather.

  3. Bug in the blog software – two updates on the same day mean you can only browse the most recent one..
