Nav Canada just published AIC 008/2026, which outlines the airspace restrictions in Toronto during the FIFA Men’s World Cup period (June 12 to July 7, 2026).

VFR Flight Restrictions

VFR Flights will not be permitted in the CYTZ control zone for 6 hours during game days. An exception will only be made for Medevac flights or flights operated by Toronto Police Services. This will occur on:

  • June 12, 2026
  • June 17, 2026
  • June 20, 2026
  • June 23, 2026
  • June 26, 2026
  • July 2, 2026.

You must have an IFR flight plan during these days in order to take-off/land or transit through the YTZ control zone. If you need to fly through Toronto airspace on these dates, use the North Route.

Drone (RPAS) Restrictions

Drones will not be permitted to fly 2,500′ and below (activations will be specified in notams) over:

  • BMO Field/Fort York (43°38′08″N, 79°24′48″W – 1.3nm radius)

  • Centennial Park (43°39’07″N, 79°35’04″W – 1nm radius)

Access will be limited to approved military, police operations and other RPAS directly
